Volunteering in the Peak District

In October 2013 our Explorers took part in a conservation weekend in the Peak District National Park, volunteering with the Park Ranger service. Staying overnight in the Marsh Farm Volunteers Centre, during the day we carried out conservation projects around the nearby Tittesworth Reservoir country park.

We have two further conservation weekends booked in 2014.

This was our second conservation weekend of the year; in March 2013 we helped improve the drainage along a stretch of the Pennine Way near Glossop.

These weekends combine a bit of hard graft with the fun of a weekend away. Because indoor accommodation is provided we tend to do them early and late in the year when it's not fit to camp.
