Each year, at the start of the summer holidays, we run a week-long camp. Last year we went to Beaudesert, a campsite in Cannock Chase, an area of outstanding natural beauty in the midlands. During the week we did various activities, including archery, crate-stacking (pictured above), climbing and geocaching. We also enjoyed days out at Warwick Castle and Alton Towers.
The Warwick Castle day out was notable for a torrential downpour which began just as we’d gathered to watch the 4pm firing of the trebuchet, leaving us all saturated!
Summer Camps are the highlight of the Scouting year for Scouts and Leaders alike. We aim to put on a fun, relaxed week with a good mix of activities and days out.
This year, we’re off to Ferny Crofts, a Scout Activity Centre near Beaulieu in the New Forest.
